LCD Projector Applications

Recently, LCD projectors have many uses. They are used for not only a business purpose such like the presentation to display an image of a PC on screen but also home projectors to project on screen like a movie theater and rear projection TV's to reflect on screen from the back. They are going to become popular among families who want to enjoy a big screen picture.

Basic Principle of LCD Projectors

Minute image elements called Micro Devices (MD) such as LCD (Transmissive LCD) and LCOS (Reflective LCD) are used in LCD projectors.

If you look closely at the screen of a cathode-ray tube TV, you can see groups of small dots of "red, blue and green". These red, blue and green colors are called "three primary colors of light (RGB)" and various colors are displayed through a combination of these 3 colors.

For example, mixing red and blue light creates purple light. Mixing green and red light creates yellow light. Mixing the three colors of red, blue and green light with the same brightness creates "Transparent light". LCD projectors are able to reproduce lifelike colors on the screen by projecting light through a mixture of these colors in various ways beforehand in a projector mechanism.
